The ideal candidate for this position is a motivated environmental consulting professional with the desire to foster technical excellence and strong client relationships. This candidate will be an integral part of our growing Women Owned Small Business and must be willing to perform work both in the office as well as in the field. As a Project Geologist/Scientist/Engineer, you will work with our staff of professionals dedicated to providing high-level expertise on a wide variety of environmental investigation and remediation projects. You will have the opportunity to represent BGTE with the client throughout proposal and project performance phases, and will be responsible for day to day execution of the technical aspects of each project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting internal and client communications
- Prepare technical reports for LEP review
- Conducting/reviewing technical analyses/calculations
- Participating in meetings and agency consultation
- Conducting site visits and field sampling (drilling oversight, groundwater monitoring, etc.) when necessary
- Prepare figures using ArcGIS
Qualifications:
- Must be able to work independently and proficiently in a hybrid work environment.
- Strong understanding of field services
- Strong working knowledge of and experience with environmental due diligence (Environmental Site Assessments), thorough understanding of the CT Property Transfer Act Program, and Remediation Standard Regulations (RSR’s)
- Basic understanding of the Release Based Cleanup Regulations which go into affect on March 1, 2025
- Experience conducting site investigations and remediation
- Provide environmental consulting services for site investigations related to soil, groundwater, soil vapor, indoor air, and sediment sampling
- Manage task assignments
- Balance of field and office assignments
- Preparation of technical deliverables, data analysis, and mapping for site assessment reports and remedial action plans and reports
- Proficient at ArcGIS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geological/Environmental Sciences (Master’s Degree is a plus)
- Experience at consulting environmental firm(s) and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations throughout Connecticut
- Self-starter, able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and direction
- Demonstrate professional judgment, consistency, strong attention to detail, and background of high-quality work products
- Demonstrate performance of independent analysis, problem solving and strong organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge and the ability to review the reports of others
- Strong interest in safety
- Possess or have completed 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER and 8-hour refresher training
